Fletchery! The Art of Making Matched Arrows eBook Bill Searle

I'm going to guess Bill Searle is an engineer or some job where they just assume that the reader can fill in the blacks. this guy is an instructor at best, not a teacher. and if you don't know the difference between the two I can assume that this book was written for people like you. it's written much like most Technical manuals where the writer live in a perfect world and has everything's at hand, perfectly clean and everyone know the terms used. he give next to no diagrams and the few in it look like a jr. high kid made them on a note pad wasting time in class. these no reason or explanations about anything. just a bunch of "do it these way because I said so." the part about cleaning up and tuning arrows to each other is useful and is the only reason why I don't give this book a 1 star. a wise teacher once told me "all information is useful if you know out how to use it." these a hand full of fact and info in this book that I can take away and use with other things I've learn but in short the book should be pulled and rewritten

Hate to be critical but ,I don't like being taken advantage of either.
Save your money ! This book was short and quick to read. The info on footing arrows was good but could been expounded upon.Would have liked to seen more on nocks (inlaid) and feather fletching . A lot to pay for so little info I already knew from the web.
Very ambiguous and superficial. Only one and a half page on nocks and placing feather. Seems the author thinks that because he knows something everyone else does to. Not worth $24. Save your mone.
Even thought is quite thin , it is really not for beginners , but for experienced archers . Most archers , both longbow and compound , make their own arrows , with modern materials such as. aluminium , fibreglass or both , with
plastic vanes ( there are so many variety s of Vanes/ Fletches ) . Thanks to this handy publication archer can make
traditional feathered arrows , thanks you can view sample pages . Highly Recomended ...
It's a fairly basic and seems to focus more on making and acquiring the tools for fletching rather than the process itself. It doesn't skip that part it's just that there is less information in that section.
This book is written as a pile of data without any instruction aside from vague explanation. It's not worth the price and I'm requesting a refund. I've had far superior instruction given from YouTube videos. This book is in a rough draft state. It needs to be reworked until it's a polished product. I couldn't recommend this book to anyone.
This book gives information on how to build your own scales and spine tester. Two Tools that you will be using frequently. You will find very cheap scales on Amazom and a much more simple spine tester on Youtube.
You will learn how to find timber and turn it into dowels.

The book refers to the importance of matching arrows to your bow but you will have to look elsewhere for this information. You will find this on Youtube. It is a lovely thought to have a matched set of arrows but they also need to match your bow.

I think that the book needs updating and maybe a reduction in price.
Bill Searle has produced a very poorly written book with ambiguous instructions. The author Bill Searle would do well to learn the basics of written communication such as paragraph structure and topic sentences, and then re-write the book. The instructions are often very ambiguous and more difficult to follow that they should be. If you already know how to make arrows, you can figure out what Bill is trying to describe if you read and re-read his instructions. This book has potential to be truly useful, but not until someone re-writes it. A word of advice Bill - a picture is worth a thousand words.
